My Baking Afternoon & This Weeks Shopping Trip...

As many of you know, I love cooking, baking, and helping my mom find great deals. Last Sunday I decided to have a baking afternoon making some things with all the reduced priced items I had found. I was so stoked about the prices of some of these items!

Here were some of my best deals from this past weeks shopping trip....

Kroger's Deals for this week:
3 four packs of Cottenelle TP: $.19 each. Used 3/$.50 coupons (Krogers doubles coupons)
4 large bags of spinach reduced to $.79/bag--used 2/$1 off coupons and got each bag for $.29!
4 bags lettuce reduced to $.79/bag--used 2/$1 off coupons and got each bag for $.29!
2 bags of 3 hearts of lettuce $.79/each. (can you tell we eat a lot of lettuce?!)
7 dozen organic/cage free eggs reduced to $.79/dozen! (original price was $3.00 each.)
4 gallons of Horizon Organic Milk reduced price $1.99/each!! (Reg. price $5.99/each) I got all four gallons and froze 3 of them so they wouldn't go to waste.

Walgreen Deals:
I was disappointed this week at Walgreens, seeing that they were out of everything I wanted!! But I did find a couple of good deals....
Colgate Toothpaste $.15 after E.S. & Manufacture coupon.
However, I think the best deal was the vitamins my mom uses were clearanced out for $2.00 each, and I just happened to have coupons with me for that product, and I got all the vitatims for $1.00/each, and the vitimans won't expire 'till next year!

Okay now with my cooking afternoon......

I baked 6 Quiche with some of the eggs, spinach and milk I had gotten. We used two Quiche for dinner, and freezed the other four, for other meals.

I then made some homemade hotpockets....I've never made them before, but they turned out to be a big hit for our family! They were supposed to make 32 or so, however I made mine bigger, and it made 18 very large ones. We used six for lunch the next day, and I froze the remaining amount for other breakfasts or lunches.

My dad waiting to eat the hot pockets!....

If any of you would like the recipes, leave me a comment to let me know and I can post them later.

Also, just a quick recommendation, if you don't have a coupon box or collection I would highly recommend starting one! I've been able to save so much money recently, and I just started getting into this couponing thing about a couple of months ago. I know most of you who are looking at my blog are not married (or are a guy who could care less about this!) and probably never do the grocery shopping.....but I found it's such great experience to start learning now before and if you ever get married one day. Plus, it's so much fun "hunting" for the best deals! ;-)

This is what my coupon box looks like, however it's grown even larger since this picture was taken.

Well, I must get back to work.....between managing Bellissima and helping around the house, it sure does keep a gal busy! :-P

Blessings,
~Michelle

P.S. Since everyone who sees the picture that's on my header wants to know who's dress that was, I thought I would just tell you from the get-go that it's actually my grandma's dress when she was queen of a ball. She passed it on to me, and now I get to wear it as you can see in the picture. I love it-- isn't it pretty!?

  1. Wow! First to comment! ;-) That's awesome that you found many good deals!! I love finding good deals- but the problem is that I don't always look out for coupons and stuff like that- I just shop and when I find a good deal I'm happy. If you're willing to share some of the good sites that you find good deals and coupons with us that will be great. =)

  2. I'm impressed Michelle! I admit that I am not great at couponing. I could definitely learn from you!

I'd like the recipe for the hot pockets. Those would be great lunches for my husband at work!
